The CRiBS team are available every day of the school week. We deliver a portfolio of specially prepared RE lessons (including for Nursery and Reception classes) covering all aspects of the Christian faith. Our lessons are compatible with the RE Syllabus of most schools. All our lessons are written by the team and have been revised and honed over many years.
In addition, we are also able to deliver lessons from the Understanding Christianity syllabus.
CRiBS RE Offer
Religious Education plays a vital part in preparing young people for life in modern Britain by helping children to develop an understanding of the different faiths and cultures which make up our society. Every day we’re surrounded by issues that require us to look at events from the perspective of others – a key skill that you learn through RE. Good RE helps to overcome prejudices and negative stereotypes. It promotes integration and a stronger sense of community. If people have a better understanding of all faiths, they’re less likely to be dismissive of issues that don’t concern them directly.
With the 2019 Inspection Framework, it is clear that OFSTED view the provision of quality RE as vital in realising the potential of a child, and the teaching of RE could be subject to a ‘deep dive’ when inspectors visit a school. At the same time, preparation for teaching RE in primary schools is often peremptory at best in teacher training.
The CRiBS team have been delivering high quality, creative and memorable Christian RE lessons across the borough of Bexley (and increasingly beyond) since 1993. Following the adoption of the new Bexley Agreed Syllabus for RE, we are pleased to be able to present some new ways to support you in the delivery of the Christianity element of the curriculum, as well as some more familiar ways.

We recognise that the structure of the new Agreed Syllabus may not necessarily lend itself to 5 week blocks of teaching on Christianity for some units. With that in mind, we are developing a series of half-day interactive workshops which will cover the Christian element of some of the units that take a more comparative approach.
In due course we will look to expand the range of workshops

What about the church? (Year 5/6 – linked to ‘If God is everywhere why go to a place of worship?’ and ‘Is it better to express your religion in arts and architecture or in charity and generosity?’)
Big Questions (Year 5/6 – linked to ‘Why do some people believe God exists?’, ‘What do religions say when life is hard?’ and ‘What matters most to Christians and Humanists?’)
